MEET WEEK! Indoor Track Meet at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. This weeks weather was much better and got outside to do some workouts.
Monday, March 11th: First time on the track this year. Northwest corner was covered with snow and slush making it very difficult to run though. 12 400s with a 2 mile warm up and a 2 mile cool down making it 6.41 miles for a nice 48 degree day.
Tuesday, March 12th: Went over distance today for a total of 8.14 miles. I accidentally deleted this on my watch so I did not get the others statistics, but overall a very nice day.
Wednesday, March 13th: Workout today being 4 400’s at a 75 second pace with only 70 seconds rest. This included a 3 mile warm up and 2 mile cool down. Nice cool day, perfect for running!
Thursday, March 14th: 6.00 miles. Again, deleted on my watch but another cool Spring day with minimal wind.
Friday, March 15th: Pre-Meet run, 3 miles. Nice day even though a little bit windy.
Saturday, March 16th: Meet Day! Ran the Mile Run. To warm up I did both static and dynamic stretches along with a 1 mile jog. Ran a 5:39. Post run included a 1 mile cool down and after we got back on the bus ride home, we did a 3 mile shakeout to get more miles in. Not my best performance but it was indoor, meaning a smaller track with more turns. It is the first meet of the season so I am not to worried yet.
Sunday, March 17th: 2.5 miles. Felt an injury coming on like I have had in the past. Was planning on 8 but just did not want anything bad to come from it. Beautiful day being 50 and minimal wind.
